A journey to Home town, flashback in past and connecting the dots...

Just back from my 4 day journey of visit to my home town and near-by areas. It was kinda nostalgic. Visited my home town after 4 years. The place where I was born, grew there, made some good friends and lot more... And came to know about some friends doing very well and some not doing so well in life..

To give you a fair idea let me tell you in brief from which kind of place I am. I belong to a small town of Saurashtra region of Gujarat. From my childhood, education was not the first priority as compared to the advanced cities like Ahmedabad. It was a priority but not to that extent where parents used to seat with the son/daughter through night to make him/her study. I was a fairly okayish kind of student who never fails and never achieves top rank. I had always had good number of friends and classmates who were always better then me in academics. Some were not so good in academics.. But more or less everyone was on equal footing for achieving success in life. But today only a handful of those people are doing well in life and some are left behind.

What is the difference between those who are doing well and those not doing well in life? Everyone was brought up in more or less same set up until higher secondary, same type of intelligence. Some who were academically behind others are doing better than those with good academics. I wondered, what is the substance,  what is the difference that allowed some to get ahead in their life and others left behind?

After a lot of thinking I found some points that might have created this difference.. I found many reasons like family support, your ambition but the main reason I found was difference of environment they got after their secondary or higher secondary. I would take my own example ( though I am not the right example for this).

After getting around 80% in 12th science in year 2005, I opted for Pharmacy from Vallabh Vidyanagar near Anand, Gujarat. This was the turning point of my life.  I never knew that this phase of my life will change me to such an extent. I was always an ambitious person but only ambition without direction is useless. Here during my graduation I came in contact with some awesome people who gave me that direction. I understood how much we can achieve during only one life time.. My thinking process expanded, horizon of thinking extended. Limit less thinking of these people ignited that fire which was needed to start a journey towards excellence. These people include my friends, my seniors, my teachers and even juniors who contributed to shaping my life.. So now I know why I was in vidyanagar for 4 years of my life.

I don't know how much successful I will be in future, what is there in store for me but I just want to thank these people who helped me in shaping my life during college, school or any other way. I wish you all do well in life.
I just wanted to write some individual names but its not fair as even a small contribution counts...

PS: When I am writing this post I have got admission in one of the good colleges for MBA in India (though not the top college) and on wait list of 2 others, will edit and let you know where I am heading for next two years of my life.. :)
